Capture stunning, high-resolution deep sky object and planetary images with the ASI585MC-P Pro Cooled Color Astronomy Camera from ZWO. Equipped with a Sony IMX585 CMOS sensor, the camera achieves 8.3MP resolution with low read noise and no amp glow. It transmits data to your computer quickly, thanks to the USB 3.0 interface and DDR3 512MB cache, with a frame rate as high as 47 fps. The two-stage thermoelectric cooler lowers the sensor temperature by 95F below ambient, dramatically reducing dark current noise for a clean image even with very long exposures. Cooling also allows you to match your calibration frames to your imaging for optimal signal-to-noise ratio. The camera’s 40ke full well capacity allows for long exposures and helps avoid overexposure issues.
8.3MP Color Sensor The ASI585MC-P features an 11.2 x 6.3mm back-illuminated Sony sensor with a resolution of 3840 x 2160. The 2.9 pixels accommodate a full well capacity of 40ke. The sensor boasts a quantum efficiency of 91%. USB 3.0 & 512M DDR3 Memory The camera is equipped with a USB 3.0 transmission interface and a built-in 512MB DDR3 cache to ensure stable and secure data transmission. Under long exposure, it effectively avoids frame dropping and greatly reduces the glow effect caused by slow reading speed. Two-Stage TEC Cooling The sensor can be cooled to 95F below the ambient temperature, holding down dark current noise. High-Conversion Gain Mode HCG mode comes on automatically when the gain is set to 252, and it keeps readout noise as low as 0.7e while maintaining an 11-bit dynamic range. No Amp Glow Using zero-glow amp circuitry, the ASI585MC-P eliminates amp glowa weak infrared light source often created by traditional CMOS sensors, sometimes seen in the corners of uncalibrated images. You won’t have to worry about it, even during high-gain, long-exposure imaging.
